But the software industry ignored them for decades. The tools that exist were built for large enterprises, then scaled down into something that kind of fits a 3-person operation — if you squint. Per-seat pricing. Feature sets designed for office managers. Support costs that rival the software itself.
In 2025, the AI inflection point arrived. Not AI as a chatbot bolted onto a dashboard — AI as a genuine operational layer that could answer calls, draft invoices, dispatch routes, and follow up on overdue payments without human micromanagement. The timing was finally right to build from scratch.
fixtor.ai started in Ontario, Canada — where HST, WSIB, PIPEDA, and trades licensing create a real business context that no US-first SaaS handles correctly. We're building here, for contractors here. North America comes next.
